Pete Thompson
Farmer and Entrepreneur Pete’s career has spanned the fresh produce industry, across retail and foodservice sectors. A lifelong environmentalist and sustainability advocate, Pete has been involved in a number of start ups ranging from Passivhaus architecture to logistics and has been embedded in the sustainability sector for over twenty years. Under his supervision the farm has become home to a drive for sustainable innovation including the UK’s first and most significant Olive groves. He has overseen the transition from intensive field scale vegetable production to nature based farming.
Joel Roden
Joel has over 20 years of experience working on environmental and renewable energy projects. He has worked in government formulating policy and run a consultancy advising companies and investors on energy and environment issues in South America and Africa. Most recently, he has undertaken woodland management and creation projects for a major UK forestry company. Joel is particularly interested in helping clients manage productive agriculture and forestry to deliver carbon sequestration and ecosystem services. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Forestry.
Kevin Tullett
With an MSc in Finance and a career spanning 3 global investment banks, Kevin's knowledge of financial products spans from Treasury products to complex derivatives. Not one to be held back or miss an opportunity, Kevin branched out of finance and founded an environmentally-conscious logistics company in London. For the last 10 years Kevin has been managing and running RedFX, a company founded to offer currency and payment solutions to corporate clients.
Will Sibley
Grafter, Nurseryman and Past Master of the Fruiterers Will’s fingerprints can be found on orchards through the world, from The Clinton’s Whitehouse to the Manoir Aux Quat Saisons, from Clarence House to the National Fruit Collection. Running nurseries for 35 years Will was instrumental in bringing Apricot and Braeburn Apple orchards to the UK. Outside the orchard he has held positions as Trustee of Borough Market and the National Fruit Collection Trust, Trustee and Chairman of the East Malling Trust and board member of the Horticultural Innovation Partnership.
Jess Latchford
Jess has been involved in the fresh produce industry for over 12 years with roles at farm wholesalers Secretts Direct and as founder fresh produce marketing company Fresh Engage. She certainly knows her onions when it comes to the joys and challenges of farming, having been the matchmaker between those growing glorious produce and those working their magic on it in the hospitality industry. Jess is an experienced speaker at industry events including Food & Drink Expo, London Produce Day and Women in the Food Industry. She has contributed to a DEFRA panel and written for Fresh Produce Journal.
Jess isn’t happier than when knee-deep in mud in a cauliflower field or scaling the dizzy heights of plum trees!
